The aim was to find out the frequency of the coverage prominence given to the report space allocated to the new stories and the direction of the report as published by the newspaper. 6 newspapers (punch, Sun, The Nation, The Guardian, vanguard and daily independence) yep purposively selected. The period of the study was September 19th, 2020. Data were analysed using code sheet. Data generated from the study were presented using frequency, simple percentage, and tables. Findings revealed that all the newspapers except Punch published news stories about the election and most of the news stories were favorable.
