Date palm is believed to be one of the oldest forms of fruits to man with a good nutritional value. However, this study was designed to evaluate the proximate compositions of Phoenix dactylifera fruit. Using the method of Association of Analytical Chemists (AOAC). The result of the proximate analysis revealed that Phoenix dactylifera contains carbohydrates at 21%, moisture at 21%, lipid at 33%, protein at 13.07% and crude fiber at 8% and ash at 4%.
