The aim of the study is to assess the factors influencing accidents in construction sites in Nigeria using Imo as a case study with the view to prevent/mitigate or stop accidents in the construction sites and promote safety. The study will use primary and secondary sources of data. Primary data was collected by means of questionnaires administered to the selected sample, and through interviews with some stakeholders including managers of the construction industry, for example, Builders, Architects, Quantity Surveyors and Estate surveyors. The study purposively sampled the selected stakeholders in Global Resources Limited in Imo State and the ability of the researcher to readily collect data for the study used 73 respondents with the help of Yaro yame sample size formula. From the SPSS output for one sample t-test table above, p-value for t-test .0000.05 level of significance which signified that the null hypothesis was rejected and concluded that there are significant factors influencing accidents in construction sites, there are significant effects of accidents on construction sites and that there are effective safety guides to prevent/mitigate accidents on construction sites.
