Questionnaire was used as an instrument for data collection. However, survey research design was adopted using a questionnaire for data gathering. One hundred and twenty (120) copies of the questionnaires were distributed, out of which one hundred and ten (118) copies were retrieved. This represents a return rate of 98.3% respectively. The study found out that the mass media reportage has helped in creating awareness of herdsmen''s violent activities in Aniocha south. Also, it was observed that residents in Aniocha South get media reports on herdsmen-farmers’ violent activities. Without a doubt, in this study mass media reports on herdsmen farmers’ violent activities are not in doubt though there were still some respondents who gave negative responses. However, the study recommended that The media should avoid presenting assumptions as facts when reporting the herders-farmers conflict. Therefore, reporters should always verify information, avoid sensationalizing half-truths, and adhere to the reporting principle of“when in doubt, leave out” as situations demand. The Nigerian press should be more intentional in giving prominence to the conflict through the positioning of reports on the front page.
