Quantitative approach was found suitable in conducting this study hence descriptive survey method was used in collecting and analyzing the data. This study used structured questionnaire as a data-gathering instrument. The questionnaire was distributed to a sample of 200 Newspaper readers using purposive using sampling technique. The finding shows that the level of newspaper circulation is low as agreed by 60% of the respondents. The study also found out that there is low patronage of newspapers in Delta State, Nigeria. The study also found that newspaper readers in Delta State, Nigeria have found alternative sources of information, entertainment and other functions that the newspaper performs. Thus, the respondents opined that online newspapers, social media, blogs and others serve as alternatives to newspapers.
