The objective of the study was to find out if Facebook has an effect on election campaigns among Benin residents and to ascertain whether the use of Facebook contributed to electoral education of Benin residents. The study comprised of descriptive survey method as the research design involving the use of questionnaires as the primary source of data and simple percentage as the method of data analysis. The random sampling method was used by the researcher. The respondents were purposively selected. Sample size of 120 was derived from the area of study. One hundred and twenty (120) copies of the questionnaire were administered to the respondents and same were retrieved and thus used as the basis for data analysis. Findings from the study showed that Benin residents get their major source of information about political office seekers for elections from Facebook hence, the use of Facebook contributes to the electoral education of Benin residents. Based on these findings, the researcher recommends that the media must encourage information dissemination from all social media platforms but must verify to ascertain its credibility.
