Survey method was adopted and a questionnaire was used as a research instrument and a sample size of 198 questionnaires was administered using the random sampling technique. The findings of the study reveal that the majority of the respondents said that their level of internet patronage among female students of mass communication, at Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic Zaria is moderate. The study proves that internet patronage reduces the amount of time the female students of Mass Communication, Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic, Zaria devote to their studies. In addition, the study discovered that the use of the internet had affected the academic performance of the respondents negatively and further confirms that there was a strong positive relationship between the use of the internet and the academic performance of students.
