Abstract
This study investigates the impact of employee motivation on productivity within the government sector, focusing specifically on the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ibadan North-West Local Government Area, Oyo State. It examines how both intrinsic and extrinsic motivation influences employee performance and productivity, addressing challenges such as bureaucratic constraints, limited financial incentives, and ineffective leadership. Using a sample of 36 employees from a total population of 40, the study employed structured questionnaires and secondary data to analyze the relationship between motivation and productivity. Data analysis, using the chi-square method, revealed that financial incentives, job security, and career development significantly affect motivation levels and productivity. The study concludes that effective motivational strategies are crucial for enhancing employee performance, and provides actionable recommendations for improving motivation within the government sector to foster better public service delivery....
