The study aimed to explore the potential of Aloe vera as a sustainable and eco-friendly corrosion inhibitor. Mild steel sheets were immersed in 1.5M And 2.0M Hydrochloric acid solution with varying concentrations of ALOE BARBADENSIS MILLER (Aloe vera) extract at room temperature. The corrosion rate was measured using weight loss. Results showed that ALOE BARBADENSIS MILLER EXTRACT (Aloe vera) significantly inhibited corrosion in 1.5M Hydrochloric acid with a maximum inhibition efficiency of 63.6%. The inhibition was attributed to the formation of a protective film on the metal surface, comprising ALOE BARBADENSIS MILLER (Aloe vera) organic compounds, such as polysaccharides. These findings have implications for industries where acidic conditions are prevalent, such as oil and gas, chemical processing, and desalination. ...Preview Download Preview +Other Industrial Chemistry project topics and materials you might be interested in»Assessment of the phytochemical constituents and proximate composition of African pear»Assessment of potassium bromate in bread produced from Aba metropolis»Extraction of phenolic content, antioxidant, antibacterial activities, and TLC analysis of Basil (Basil Ocimum Basilicum), Thyme (Thymus Vulgaris) and Parsely (Petroselinum Crispum)»Extraction, total phenolic content, antioxidant, antibacterial activities and tlc analysis of basil (Ocimum Basilicum), thyme (Thymus Vulgaris), parsely (Petroselinum Crispum)»Synthesis of heterogenous catalyst from clay»Synthesis and study of alkali on foam stability of citrus lemon leaves surfactant for hydrocarbon recovery»Corrosion inhibition of clean and unclean mild steel in 1.5m and 2.0m hydrochloric acid using Aloe Barbadensis miller (Aloe Vera) extract»Sustainable heavy metal remediation in industrial effluents using aluminum oxide nanoparticles-sawdust composite adsorbent
