Abstract
The study examined the role of electronic media drama and child development. The electronic media especially television if used appropriately is an effective instrument through which children can be enhanced and developed positively but children are exposed to negative programs that are not suitable for them by many parents. The study used the survey research design with questionnaires as the instrument of data collection. The sample of 67 respondents was drawn from parents and pupils of Nukai Primary School. These were issued with questionnaire item. The key findings reveal that positive television drama programmes educate, entertain, enlighten and develop the child all around. The study, therefore, recommends that television programmes for children should be thoroughly scrutinized and screened by parents and media houses and should be aimed at imbibing positive behaviors, values, norms and didactic themes to enhance the positive all-around development of the child.
