The researcher at this juncture tends to carry out a research work on the evaluation of the practice of appointment system among secondary and tertiary health facilities in Owo local government area of Ondo state. In order to guide the researcher in the study. Four (4) research question were drawn in line with the objectives which are"what are the factors responsible for delay in the hospital","What are the effect of appointment system on patient health care","what is the role of appointment system in health care facilities","what are the ways of improving the effectiveness of appointment system". A descriptive research design was adopted and a sample of Ninety (90) medical records staff were drawn out of the population of Ninety using total sampling. A structure questionnaire was used to obtain necessary information. It was face validated. Simple percentage was used in analyzing the research data. The findings indicate that inadequate staff strength is a factor that causes delay in the appointment system, it also indicates that the appointment system aids in the reduction of patient waiting time in the hospital. The researcher also noticed that obeying the rules guiding the appointment system will enforce the practice of the appointment system in the hospital.
