Abstract
The study examines THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN PARENTAL INCOME AND THE ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT OF SENIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS IN NASSARAWA LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA OF KANO STATE. The findings aim to examine the relationship between parental income and academic achievement among senior secondary school students. A total of seventy (70) questionnaires were administered to the respondents and data collected was analyzed using simple table with percentages. The findings of the study revealed that most of the respondents (50%) indicated that Students from high-income families are more likely to attend better-equipped schools than lower-level of income students. This research work revealed thatthe  majority of the respondents (45.71%) indicated that educated parents tend to place a higher value on education, setting high academic achievement for their children. Lastly, this study revealed that (71.43%) indicated that students from high socio-economic backgrounds often achieve better results in standardized tests and examinations due to access to quality educational resources. It was recommended that to address the impact of parental income on academic achievement, the government should implement policies that provide financial support to students from low-income families. Schools and educational institutions should introduce more subsidized or free academic support programs, such as after-school tutoring and mentorship initiatives. Parental engagement should be encouraged, regardless of income level. Schools can organize workshops and seminars to educate parents on the importance of supporting their children's education....
