Abstract
This study was conducted to focus on the impact of parents' socio-economic status on students' achievement in basic technology. Quantitative research design questionnaire was used for this study. However, this study highlights the substantial influence of socio-economic factors on students' academic achievement in basic technology. Parental income, education, occupation, and access to resources like technology contribute significantly to students'' performance and on the other hand, students from less privileged parents are discovered to have low academic performance. Recommendations have been provided to aid parents, educators, policymakers, and community organizations in addressing these socio-economic barriers. Finally, avenues for future research have been suggested to further explore and address the challenges identified in this study. This research emphasizes the importance of creating an equitable educational environment that supports students from all socio-economic backgrounds in achieving their full potential in basic technology.
