Effect of entrepreneurship education on entrepreneurial intention among students of Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa

Abstract
This study examined the effect of entrepreneurship education on entrepreneurial intention among students of Federal Polytechnic, Nasarawa, Nasarawa State, Nigeria. The research objectives are to assess the impact of entrepreneurial knowledge, skills, and attitude/mindset on entrepreneurial intention. A descriptive survey research design was employed for the study. The population consisted of 12,000 students, with a sample size of 368 respondents selected using Krejcie& Morgan''s formula. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire and analyzed using regression analysis. The findings revealed that entrepreneurial knowledge (ß  0.276, p  0.001), entrepreneurial skills (ß  0.318, p  0.001), and entrepreneurial attitude/mindset (ß  0.352, p  0.001) all have significant positive effects on entrepreneurial intention. Among these, attitude/mindset emerged as the most influential factor. Based on the results, the study recommended integrating entrepreneurship education into all academic curricula, establishing mentorship programs with industry experts, and fostering government-private sector partnerships to provide funding and support for student-led startups.
