Abstract
The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into education has revolutionized traditional teaching methods, with Virtual Reality (VR) emerging as a powerful tool for creating immersive learning experiences. In the realm of science education, particularly physics, VR offers the ability to simulate complex experiments, visualize abstract concepts, and foster interactive engagement, thereby enhancing students'' comprehension and interest. However, many secondary schools in developing countries, including Nigeria, face limitations in providing well-equipped physics laboratories, hindering students from gaining the hands-on experience necessary for mastering theoretical principles. This study focuses on the development of a Virtual Reality Laboratory to address these challenges, specifically for the practical training of secondary school physics students. The research aims to design a VR-based laboratory interface, simulate key physics experiments in a virtual environment, and evaluate the effectiveness of the VR lab in enhancing students' understanding of physics concepts. The study also compares the performance of students using the VR lab with those using traditional laboratory methods. The significance of this study lies in its potential to improve students'' academic performance by providing a more engaging and interactive learning experience. It contributes to educational research and policy by demonstrating the feasibility and benefits of integrating VR into secondary school curricula. The research is limited to selected secondary schools within a specified region and focuses on key experiments commonly included in the curriculum, such as the measurement of velocity, Ohm’s Law, and simple pendulum motion. The study employs a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative data from student performance metrics with qualitative feedback from teachers and students. The findings are expected to provide valuable insights into the potential of VR technology to transform science education in resource-constrained settings....
