To achieve this objective, three research questions and two research hypotheses were formulated to guide this study. The data collected were analyzed using simple percentages and tables to analyze research questions and the Chi-square statistical tool was used for testing of research hypotheses. A structured questionnaire was used as the major instrument for data collection from the staff of the Federal Inland Revenue Service, Lagos Annex Office. After the careful analysis of the data, the following findings were revealed that there is a significant relationship between e-tax payment and tax evasion by Nigerian taxpayers there is a significant correlation between e-taxation and tax compliance by the Nigerian citizens and there is a significant correlation between e-taxation and tax administration bottlenecks. The study concluded with some recommendations that Federal government through Federal Inland Revenue Services (FIRS) should work out modalities on how to sensitize companies on the nitty-gritty of E-tax payment so as to maximize the expected positive impact of the initiative and mobile version of FIRS electronic tax portal should be created and made available for different types of mobile operating system such as Android, Windows and Apple OS.
