Like a cankerworm, it has eaten deep in society and finally been accepted by the same society. This study was carried out to investigate the prevalence of the unbridled quest to get rich quickly among the youths in Idemili North L.G.A., Anambra State. The sample size for this study was 204 respondents, using a multi-stage sampling technique, comprising cluster and simple random samplings. Related documents and theories were extensively reviewed. Anomie theory and Robert Merton's Strain theory were adopted as the theoretical framework. A total of 210 questionnaires were distributed, but only 204 were carefully filled and retrieved, which made up the sample size of the respondents in this study. Questionnaire and an in-depth interview were used as the instruments for data collection from the field and were analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). Two hypotheses formulated were tested using the chi-square test. Findings show that poverty, the fear of not securing a better job after school peer pressure and lack of contentment are the factors responsible for the get-rich-quick syndrome among the youths. The study recommends that adults, children and youths need to be enriched with the“power of the teaching of distinguishing right from wrong”. All schools should return to the teaching of moral education in order to empower all people with the spirit of stewardship....Preview Download Preview +Other Sociology project topics and materials you might be interested in»Knowledge and attitude of undergraduate students towards homosexuality and its implication on social adjustment (A study of Caritas university, Amorji-Nike, Emene, Enugu state) »Assessing factors responsible for community self-help projects and rural development – a study of selected communities in Ado-Odo/Ota local government area»Unemployment and involvement in crime in urban communities»Socio-cultural effect of herders attack on farmers productivity in Akure north Lga, Ondo state»A sociological snalysis of the media and crime control in Abuja Municipality FCT»The impact of social distancing and frequent handwashing in reducing the spread of coronavirus disease (covid-19) in Nigeria»Comparative study of socio-economic background of parents towards their children in relation to academic performance»Youth unemployment and insecurity - case study of Rivers State»Causes and impact of indiscipline among secondary school students»The impact of child trafficking on women in Nigeria»Effects of malnutrition among children of lower socioeconomic status of age 0-5 years»Impact of orphanage home on the child’s personality development»Female gender discrimination in work place among civil service workers in Enugu state local government area of Enugu state»Radio Biafra and civil war of 1967-1970: lessons for the contemporary media industry in south-south region»The effects of rural poverty on environmental degradation in Kogi local government area, Kogi state
