Abstract
This project focuses on the PRODUCTION OF GRADUATION GARMENTS, with the primary aim of designing and constructing durable, comfortable, and aesthetically appealing academic gowns suitable for use during graduation ceremonies. The study examined suitable fabrics, design principles, construction techniques, and finishing methods required to produce quality graduation garments that meet institutional standards. The production process involved fabric selection, pattern drafting, cutting, sewing, pressing, and final finishing. Polyester-blend materials, crepe, and satin were chosen due to their durability, drape quality, and resistance to wrinkles. The gowns were constructed using professional tailoring techniques to ensure proper fit, neat stitches, and overall garment stability. Evaluation of the finished garments showed that they possessed excellent visual appeal, comfortable fitting, and strong seam strength. The findings revealed that quality graduation garments can be produced locally using available materials and standard garment-making equipment. The study concludes that with proper craftsmanship and appropriate fabric choice, locally made graduation gowns can compete with imported varieties. It is recommended that institutions patronize local producers to reduce costs and encourage local tailoring industries....
