Therefore, this study sets out to determine the knowledge of exclusive breastfeeding and factors influencing weaning among mothers of under five years attending the infant welfare clinic in Odo Otin Local Government Area, Osun State. The study adopted a descriptive research design and it involved 150 mothers of under 5 years children using a purposive sampling technique. Data was obtained using self-structured questionnaires and was analyzed using frequencies and percentages. The results showed that 91.3% of mothers practiced exclusive breastfeeding, 48.6% used exclusive formula feeding. 45% of the mothers breastfed their infants 5–8 times daily, with 20% breastfeeding more than eight times daily. 95% of the respondents did not consider a lack of support from family or friends as a barrier. Additionally, 88.8% did not face issues with insufficient breast milk supply, and 86.3% did not report work-related stress as a significant barrier. This study has shown that the health education given to mothers at the antenatal clinic is providing good results; nurses and midwives should not relevant in given health education to our mothers during the antenatal clinic.
