This project presents a Face Recognition Attendance System that automates the attendance marking process using advanced facial recognition technology. The system employs deep learning-based face detection and recognition algorithms to identify students and automatically record their attendance. Built using Python Flask framework, MySQL database, and the face_recognition library (based on dlib''s state-of-the-art facial recognition model), the system achieves 99.38% accuracy in face recognition. Key features include real-time camera-based face capture for registration, automated attendance marking, late arrival detection, a comprehensive analytics dashboard, and report generation in both PDF and Excel formats. The system also includes custom institutional branding and a demo data generator for testing purposes. The application has been successfully packaged as a standalone Windows executable, making it portable and easy to deploy across different systems without requiring Python installation. The system demonstrates significant improvements over traditional methods in terms of time efficiency, accuracy, and prevention of proxy attendance.
