These processes are characterized by inefficiency, a high risk of double-bookings, reliance on costly third-party Online Travel Agencies (OTAs), and a suboptimal customer experience. This project aims to address these challenges by designing, developing, and implementing a secure and user-friendly Online Hotel Reservation System for a hypothetical mid-sized hotel,"Grandeur Hotel." The study employs a structured system analysis and development methodology, following a linear sequential approach encompassing requirement analysis, system design, development, testing, and deployment. The core objective is to create a centralized web-based platform that automates the entire reservation process. The proposed system features a customer-facing front-end, developed with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, allowing users to browse rooms, check real-time availability, and make secure payments via the Stripe gateway. The administrative back-end, built with PHP Laravel and a MySQL database, provides hotel staff with a dashboard to manage inventory, view bookings, and generate occupancy reports. Key outcomes of the system include the elimination of double-bookings through real-time inventory management, a reduction in administrative overhead, enhanced data security, and the provision of a reliable direct booking channel to decrease dependency on high-commission OTAs.
