Abstract
Stress has become a major public health concern among students in health-related disciplines due to the demanding nature of their academic and clinical training. Community Health students are particularly vulnerable to stress as a result of intensive coursework, clinical postings, financial challenges, and social responsibilities. This study examined the perceived effects of stress and associated factors among Community Health students in the College of Health Technology, Offa, Kwara State. A sample size of 200 respondents was selected using a stratified random sampling technique to ensure fair representation of all academic levels. Data were collected using a structured, self-administered questionnaire designed to capture respondents’ socio-demographic characteristics, perceived sources of stress, and perceived effects of stress on academic performance, physical health, and psychosocial well-being. The instrument was validated by experts in public health and education, and reliability testing yielded a Cronbach’s alpha coefficient of 0.82. Data were analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 25. Descriptive statistics such as frequency counts, percentages, and mean scores were used, while inferential statistics (Chi-square test) were applied to test associations between variables at a 0.05 level of significance....
