Automated software testing and quality assurance Department:Computer Science By: Muhammnnad1 Project ID: 9034 Rating: (5.0) votes: 1 Price:₦4000 Get the Complete MaterialAbstractThe increasing complexity of modern software systems and the demand for rapid release cycles have rendered traditional manual testing methods insufficient due to their time-consuming nature and susceptibility to human error. This study investigates the role and effectiveness of automated software testing within the broader framework of quality assurance, focusing specifically on the efficiency, defect detection capabilities, and functional coverage of automated tools. The research employed an Experimental Case Study Design combined with a Mixed-Methods Approach to evaluate the performance of the Postman API testing platform and the Newman CLI. The methodology involved developing a comprehensive test suite for a representative RESTful API, into which specific defects were deliberately seeded to measure detection accuracy. Quantitative data were collected across multiple execution runs to assess stability, execution time, and pass/fail rates. The results indicated that the automated testing framework is highly efficient, achieving a mean execution time of 1185 ms per collection with a low standard deviation, demonstrating significant speed advantages over manual processes. The test suite achieved a 98.33% average success rate and 100% endpoint coverage, successfully detecting 80% of the seeded defects. However, the study observed limitations in detecting time-dependent defects, such as token time-to-live (TTL) issues, without explicit temporal test configurations. The study concludes that automated testing using tools like Postman effectively enhances software quality by ensuring consistent validation and rapid feedback loops. It recommends integrating automation into Continuous Integration (CI) pipelines and adopting specialized strategies for temporal and negative testing to maximize defect detection....Preview Download Preview +Other Computer Science project topics and materials you might be interested in»Design and Implementation of digital library system»Design and Implementation of a Virtual E-Learning System ( Case study of Lagos State University)»Design and Implementation of Student Project Management and Allocation System»Design and Implementation of online cash receipt generating system for a supermarket»Design and Implementation of a Software Result Processing and Transcript Generation System»Design and Implementation of computerized hospital database management system»Design and Implementation of a Hotel Database Management System and Service ( A Case Study of Winter Suites and Hotels, Owerri)»Design and Implementation of Online Birth and Death Registration System»Design and Implementation of Online Clearance System»Design and Implementation of Loan Management System with SMS Notification»Design and Implementation of Computerized Staff Record Department»Design and Implementation of Cyber Cafe Security»Design and Implementation of N.Y.S.C Posting System ( A case study of N.Y.S.C Enugu)»Design and Implementation of a Computerized Fraud Detection in a Bank»Design and Simulation of a Secured Wireless Network
