Descriptive survey research design was used to carry out the research. Simple random sampling technique was used to select the respondents for the study. One hundred (100) were selected from five (5) different secondary schools in the Ondo West Local Government Area of Ondo State. The data collected from the respondents was analyzed using statistical tools of tables, charts, mean score and standard deviation and t-test to test the hypothesis of the study. Also, the findings of the study show that higher family income is associated with students’ ability to attend schools with a more favorable student-to-teacher ratio. Furthermore, the findings of the study revealed that poverty often results in students having to prioritize immediate financial needs over investing in their education for the long term. It was therefore recommended that the government should implement comprehensive poverty alleviation programs aimed at addressing the root causes of poverty, including unemployment, inadequate housing, and lack of access to basic services.
