The rise of digital communication tools such as email, social media, and instant messaging has led to a decline in traditional postal services. This study examines the extent of this impact, identifies the challenges faced by postal services, and explores potential strategies for mitigating these challenges. Using a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews as well as secondary data analysis, this research examines the decline in mail volume and revenue, adaptation, and innovative solutions for the Nigerian Postal Service, NIPOST. The findings reveal a marked decrease in mail volume and revenue for postal services, alongside challenges such as underutilization of infrastructure and potential job losses. Recommendations include modernizing postal services, diversifying service offerings, and leveraging technology to enhance efficiency and relevance.
