Four research questions, one major hypothesis, and four sub-hypotheses were tested in this study. A pretest-posttest control-experimental research design involving two groups was used for this study. The population of this study is all athletes of Usman Danfodio University, totaling 116 in the 2023/2024 academic session. Purposive sampling technique through inclusion and exclusion criteria was used to select 60 athletes and assign them to control and experimental groups prior to administering banana fruits. The control and experimental groups were subjected to a 50 m sprint race, press-up test, vertical jump-up test and 1-repetition maximum (1RM) back. The control group was given water (placebo). The experimental groups were given two banana fruits on a different place. Post-test scores on all variables were taken and analyzed using Analysis of Covariance (ANCOVA) to test the hypotheses at a 0.05 level of significance. The results reveal significant effects of banana fruits on muscular power (F 46.376, df 3, p 0.00). Muscular endurance (f, 58.398, df 3, p 0.00). Speed (f, 21.01, df 3, P0.00).
