Three Objectives and corresponding research questions were posed to guide the study. Literature related to the study was reviewed. Descriptive Survey research design was used for the study, with questionnaires as the tool for data collection. The Sample for the study consisted of 150 respondents, which is 5% of the target population. The data collected were analyzed using frequency and simple percentages based on yes or no answers by the respondents to describe the Awareness and Acceptance of Premarital Genotype Screening among youths. The result of the data analysis indicated that there is Majority of the respondents have heard about genetic diseases, especially sickle cell anemia, and this is consistent with the position of Arulogun; a reasonable proportion demonstrated poor knowledge about the cause of genetic diseases. This indicates the need for enlightenment about the causes of genetic diseases. Although most respondents knew of genotype, a significant proportion of the respondents demonstrated poor knowledge of genotype. Following the discussion summary, conclusion and recommendations of the study were made and some recommendation Intensive enlightenment campaign on Premarital Genotype testing before marriage should also be done by the government and institutions through the media, alongside health education on genetic diseases and their prevention early before marriage.
