This research work was conducted to assess the level of utilization of maternal health services among women of childbearing age attending Abdullahi Wase Teaching Hospital, Nasarawa, Kano State. A cross-sectional descriptive research design was used for this study. A well-structured adapted questionnaire comprising 25 variables was used after necessary corrections by the supervisor, and a pilot study was used to assess the validity and reliability of the instrument. A sample of 107 questionnaires was distributed, and all of them were retrieved, analysed, and presented using frequency distribution tables and interpreted as seen in Tables 4.1, 4.2, 4.3 and 4.4. The finding shows that women of reproductive ages attending Abdullahi Wase teaching hospital agreed that maternal health services are available and adequate, and also have good perception about maternal health services as they agreed it was important in promoting the health of the mother and child (94.4%) though barely half the respondents believes such services were rather curative rather than preventive (53.3%) and there is adequate utilization of all of the services but post abortion services which wasn’t utilized adequately (88.2%). Recommendations were made, such as the need to create more channels to create awareness, provide adequate information and education on the importance of maternal health services so as to increase the client’s knowledge and also develop a positive perception towards accessing those services.
