Using chi-square, it was analyzed that there was no significant association (p-value 0.05) across all Candida species Candida albicans had the highest prevalence of 29 (41.5%) followed by C. glabrata 12(17. 2%). The infecting species does not play a significant role in the prevalence of vaginal candidiasis (p-value 0.05) a higher proportion of Candida infections was detected among participants with vaginal discomfort/discharge, 28 (71.8%). This was significant (p-value 0.05). those participant with previous history of STI 29(74.4%) were also significant ( p- value 0.05 ). Those who wore nylon underwear had 35 (87.5%) and they were significant ( p- value 0.05). Use of antibiotics for longer duration and contraceptive use were the risk factors.
